The Art of Wine is not just a wine shop, not just a lounge bar and not just a gallery – it’s all three.

Every bottle of wine, chunk of cheese and painting on the wall has been hand-picked by our team because we believe in the quality of the products we offer. We aim to support other small businesses locally and internationally and build up a network of like-minded people. Our goal is to give you the best possible experience every time you drop in, whether that’s for the perfect bottle to take away, a bite to eat or a glass of wine with friends in our lounge bar.

The Art of Wine opened its doors in February 2016, the brainchild of wine fans Roland Stokes and Enora Senlanne.

Roland grew up in Cornwall and lives in Mevagissey with Enora. After years  running his own construction business both in Brittany and in Cornwall,  he decided to follow his real passion and use his many years of study as well as his Wine and Spirit Education Trust Qualifications to open his dream shop: The Art Of Wine.

Favourite wines? “One of the most memorable wines I drank was a 75 Rioja and as such I have always kept a soft spot for Rioja. My white of  the moment is the Precedent Chenin blanc from California, which we have stumbled upon while selecting wines for the shop. Through our extensive tasting I have been extremely impressed by the superb quality of the organic and biodynamic wines available. ”

Enora hails from Brittany and as such is a French wines fanatic. Upon meeting Roland, she discovered the big wide world of wines outside of France and has broadened her horizons! She is now always on the lookout for new discoveries selecting only the finest for the Art of Wine.

Favourite wines? “It is so hard to pick as my choice would vary depending on the weather, what I eat and my mood! Generally speaking I would be delighted with a crispy Chardonnay or a light Loire Valley red in the summer, but nothing beats the comfort of a full bodied red, such as a Cabernet- Sauvignon, with a nice roast dinner in the winter.  I also love my bubbles, champagne of course, but I have a soft spot for the  Jean- Louis Denois fizz!”

Roland & Enora look forward to helping you find a new favourite tipple at The Art of Wine soon.
